Leave this field empty.
Trace McSorely threw two touchdown passes, Saquan Barkley topped the century mark and the Penn State defense tightened in the second half as the Nittany Lions beat Kent State 33-13 on Saturday.

It wasn’t the flashiest of wins, but James Franklin is okay with that.

With new coordinators on both sides of the ball, Penn State will have a decidedly different look when they take the field this weekend to open the 2016 season.

The new-look Lions may find themselves finishing with a similar record from 2015, but the latest edition of James Franklin’s Penn State squad is sure to get there differently.

For years, the accomplishments of the Penn State men’s basketball team have been few and far between. Head coach Patrick Chambers has posted a 23-67 overall conference record in his five seasons, one of the worst marks among Power 5 schools. Only TCU, Boston College, Texas Tech and Virginia Tech have a lower in-conference winning percentage than Penn State's .256 mark during that span.

The Nittany Lions have not managed one winning conference record during his five-year stint with the program, topping out at 7-11 last season.

Three WPIAL players were drafted into the NFL this past weekend. Former Pitt wide receiver and Clairton standout Tyler Boyd was the first local player off the board when the Cincinnati Bengals made him their second round pick on Friday night.

Scouts love Boyd’s competitiveness, route-running ability and hands, which make up for his lack of elite speed.

As difficult as it can be to discern real progress from a spring football game, Penn State’s 37-0 Blue victory over White in the Nittany Lions scrimmage earlier this month provided some clues.

Penn State capped their spring in front of 65.000 fans at Beaver Stadium. Here's what we learned from the scrimmage.

There may not be a player with local connections selected in the opening round of this month's NFL Draft, but the region will nonetheless be well-represented once again when the NFL comes calling.

Penn State's Christian Hackenberg is the only player from the area with any real chance of being drafted in the first round, but that would be a surprise at this point.

This month’s spring drills for the Penn State Nittany Lions will be an important one. A promising recruiting class and strong returning starters provide hope for year three of the James Franklin era; however, there are still plenty of question marks.

Penn State’s offensive production was one of the worst in the NCAA in terms of overall efficiency last season, which gives new coordinator Joe Moorhead a lot of work to do over the next couple

Now that national signing day has passed, James Franklin is hard at work trying to fix Penn State's offensive line issues.

The 2015 season for Penn State had plenty of ups and downs; although, their 7-6 record can be viewed as a positive considering how much the offense struggled to move the ball.

The Penn State Nittany Lions have seen more turnover in the past four years than they saw in the 45 years prior.

Consequently, the football team has not reached nine wins or more since 2011, the last year Joe Paterno coached.
